When Tom Callinan came to me, he needed a website, but didn’t know exactly what he wanted to say and didn’t have a name at first. As I got to know him better, I saw what he was passionate about, and what he had to offer. I was able to help him hone in his business (which transitioned to a non-profit), and developed content.
He had initially wanted us to use a hero image with blocks being handed from one person to another…I felt that we wanted to use one person with their hands cupped, holding blocks that look weathered and wood-cut. THEN I found out that his favorite song, his mantra, was Jack Johnson’s “With My Own Two Hands”. Editing someone who had been an editor himself for years was intimidating, but he was more than gracious and blew us away with his trust in us. And thus was born “Charitable Words“.
